Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has appointed former town clerk John Gakuo co-chair of the re-generation committee.
The team's main task is to help regain Nairobi’s lost glory, the county government says.
Gakuo's appointment became effective on February 15, his letter reads.
The committee headed by Tourism CS Najib Balala will look at land issues, information and communications technology, housing and settlement, infrastructure and transport and energy.
They will also look at water resources, environment and solid waste management and services to youth, women and people with disability.
Polycarp Igathe, who resigned from his deputy governor post on January 31, was the former holder of the seat at the committee.
