Menengai Oilers maintained the top position in the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championhsip after recording a routine 27-5 against Moi University’s Arsonists. Oilers move to 29 points from six matches same as second-placed Mean Machine. However, the oilers have a 156 points difference.
Both teams have five bonus points. Machine overcame South Coast Pirates 20-0 at Ukunda to pile more pressure on the last placed team.
Former Kenya Cup side, Mean Machine maintained the third position with 22 points after a narrow 13-10 win over University of Eldoret’s Trojans in Eldoret.
USIU Martials are fourth with 16 points after edging out fellow varsity side JKUAT Cougars 25-5 while Kisumu RFC moved to sixth after beating Egerton Wasps 27-0 to complete a double on the Njoro based team. JKUAT remained bottom of the table.
It was sweet revenge for the Catholic Monks after a 8-0 win over Ngong Warriors in Karengata. The win saw Monks rise to the sixth place on the log with 15 points. Warriors beat Monks 8-5 in the first leg.
