Royale Salute, Samurai target Chairman’s Cup final berth

Royale Salute and Samurai will be vying for the final berth as they clash in the one off knockout ties in today’s Chairman’s Cup at the Nairobi Polo Club, Jamhuri.
As the two sides face off in a full- four chukka- game, ‘Space and Style,’ Mombasa Island Cargo Terminal and RJ Polo will play each other in two chukkas in the knockout showpiece. The best winner (the side that tops the three teams) will proceed to the finals slated for tomorrow.
The tournament promise to be action-packed with thrilling entertainment as this will be the last off-season club tournament and players will want to put up a great show to get that fulfilling feeling of ‘I gave my best’.
Jamie Hayward 0.5, Anthony Wahome 0, Michael Camm 0 and Natasha Tisminiesky -0.5 turn out for Royal Salute and stand in the way of Samurai (Raphael Nzomo 2.5, Hiromi Nzomo 0, Jadini Nzomo -1 and Amani Nzomo -1), who will be racing to grab a back-to-back treble.
Samurai won Maria Bencivenga Cup (January 14) and Soldiers Salute last weekend. The well knit lineup is out to claim a hat-trick which they narrowly missed in 2017.
Whereas ‘Space and Style’ (Lorenzo Soriano 1, Devin Shretta 0.5, Taru Mwamto -0.5 and Miranda Romijn -1.5) and RJ Polo (Vishal Somaia 2, Rowena Stichbury 0, Louis Roumeguere -0.5 and Eva Kamau -1.5) are rooting for a maiden trophy in 2018, MICT will be out to garner a second tournament win this year.
Nairobi Polo Club chairman handicap 2, Phillip Arungah, will once again captain MICT and will team up with son Omwakwe Arungah 0.5, Karim Abbany -1 and Magda Jurkoweicka -2. MICT won the Davis Cup on the first weekend of the month.
