NASA principal Kalonzo Musyoka has criticized US ambassador Robert Godec for constantly meddling with the opposition's swearing-in plans.
Kalonzo said Godec should focus on "uniting [US President Donald] Trump".

He said the US is under shutdown and protests are all over yet Godec sees no crisis in this.
US Senate failed to pass a new budget and prevent the shutdown of many federal services.
A bill to fund the federal government for the coming weeks did not receive the required 60 votes by the deadline of midnight on Friday.
President Trump accused the Democrats of putting politics above the interests of the American people.
“We should not be convinced [to drop swearing-in plans] by other countries. Godec says he is uniting people, he should first unite Trump,” Kalonzo said.
He spoke on Sunday in Mombasa during Coast’s second convention of the People’s Assembly.
Godec on January 9 met NASA leadership in National Assembly and Senate and urged them to drop the controversial oath.
Senate minority leader

Moses Wetangula and his ODM counterpart John Mbadi said the plan can only be abandoned if State engages in dialogue on electoral reforms.

The American envoy said there was a need for structured talks between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA’s Raila Odinga to help the country to shift focus to other developmental issues.
But Kalonzo said the world has changed and citizens are agitated.
“World-over people are crying for freedom," he said.
