KMPDU officials have called upon the woman who alleged she was raped at a KNH breastfeeding room to come out and report the matter to the police.

Secretary General Ouma Oluga told journalists on Friday that the woman should use the correct channels to air her grievances.

This was after claims of breastfeeding mothers being sexually assaulted at the facility emerged on Friday.

Oluga spoke during a fact-finding mission at Kenyatta National Hospital, which is Kenya's main referral hospital.

"We have gone through the CCTV footage and it is like this person is anonymous.Let the person who posted the allegations come out."

He confirmed that mothers move from one floor to another to breastfeed their babies, adding that they counted 29 people on the said night.

"Mothers move from third floor to breastfeed at the nurseries. They do this about four times in a night," Oluga said.

Chairman Samuel Oroko asked the police to seize of the matter and ensure the perpetrator(s) are brought to justice.

He also called for the restructuring of the hospital so that mothers and their newborns can be house on the same floor.

"Mothers cannot move up and down to go and breastfeed their babies. This is a shame. The management of KNH must move with speed and correct this."

The government, through Health CS Cleopa Mailu, has ordered probe into the allegations.
