KNH has written to the DCI asking for investigation into the rape claims that emerged on Friday saying they have no record of any assault.

"The allegations are

in bad faith. We have written

to the DCI to investigate and if they is any truth then action will be taken," CEO Lily Koros said.

Koros, during a press conference, said they have not received any complaints and have not seen anything after reviewing the facility's CCTV footage.

Kenyatta National Hospital was put on the spot after a woman claimed she was sexually assaulted when she sought to breastfeed her baby.

"Not a single case has been reported to us. There are security teams who oversee the safety and security of patients in the hospital day and night," Koros said.

Koros also clarified that mortuary attendants use service lifts which are separate from those used by patients and clients.

"There is no single complain that has been registered on such a case yet we have suggestion boxes," she said.

She assured Kenyans of their security at the hospital adding that anybody who has experienced such acts should call 0722825599 or write to the hospital.

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja was also present at the conference and asked anyone with information that can help in the probe to come out and speak.

Earlier, KMPDU officials called upon the woman who alleged she was raped at a KNH breastfeeding room to come out and report the matter to the police.

Secretary General Ouma Oluga told journalists on Friday that the woman should use the correct channels to air her grievances.
