Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has told off political analyst Barrack Muluka for laying claim to the Amani National Congress secretary general post.

He said the purported appointment of Muluka has not taken effect, especially in the face of party members raising complaints and petitions against his hiring.

Osotsi on Friday said he remains the substantive ANC secretary general until the existing disputes are resolved and a new SG democratically elected.

The MP said matter is now before the political parties disputes tribunal (PPDT) following the collapse of internal dispute resolution mechanisms.

"Both the office of the registrar of political parties and IEBC have refused to recognise him due to the existence of the dispute."

"It is, therefore, dishonest and unholy for Muluka to mislead Kenyans and party members," Osotsi said in a statement.

"Muluka is an impostor and an agent of cartels which are seeking to hijack the party to facilitate their selfish agendas which we are fully aware."

He said his resignation has been clouded by falsehoods adding that the truth on how the same was instigated will come out.

Osotsi told Muluka that his acts of engineering articles in the media with false information will not make him the substantive ANC SG.

"Progressive members and leaders will not allow him and his cartels to hijack the party that we have painfully built under difficult circumstances," he said.

"When we were busy building the party, he was hibernating in the jubilee enclaves as an apologist, strategist and consultant," Osotsi added.

When contacted, Muluka told The Star that his appointment has already been gazetted by the registrar of political parties.

He said Osotsi is only trying to malign him on the new roles he has taken at the party adding that he finds the MP's statement defamatory.

"We will handle the matter as per the law. I take it personal that he is calling me a cartel and impostor."

"I will refrain from engaging him in a public spat. I will take the necessary actions," Muluka said.

He argued that if Osotsi is not happy with the roles he has been given at the party, there are better channels to raise the issue than seek media attention.

Muluka said the MP is only trying to find a scapegoat after an arrest warrant was issued against him and the former CEO Petronilla Were.

"As we speak, we have seen how the party had failed under their leadership. We have established they had taken money from members without their consent."

"Police have launched investigations and arrest warrants already issued," he said on phone.
