Jakokise lamented that cases of such attacks have become rampant.

He cited a recent case where a form two student was also attacked and killed in that same area.

The incident was confirmed by East Asembo location chief Fredrick Omino.

The administrator said efforts to retrieve the boy's body are ongoing.

"At some point, the crocodile could be seen lifting the body up but later it disappeared. We have cordoned the area and the search for the body is ongoing. About ten boats are conducting the search," he said.

Omino said he has already alerted the Kenya Wildlife Services officials who have promised to kill the rogue reptile.
