Murang'a MCAs for the third time came to blows following their differences on change of leadership in the assembly.

This happened after a group of county legislators, among them the newly-elected Majority Leader Amos Murigi, attempted to occupy their offices at the assembly premises.

The were at the deputy speaker Samuel Kihurunjo's office to serve him with a letter requesting for a special sitting so that the assembly confirms the new leadership.

They also wanted the deputy speaker to introduce them to the new offices.

But when they went to the new Majority Leader's office, Eric Kamande, who was replaced by Murigi, dismissed their actions saying they were just engaging in theatrics.

Trouble started as the MCAs from both camps tried to outdo each other in efforts to occupy the offices.

The fight lasted for about 10 minutes throwing operations at the office in disarray before the 15 MCAs retreated.

Kamande has since recorded a statement at Murang'a police station following the incident.

During the melee, Nominated MCA Stephen Chege accused the new leadership of attempting to murder Gatanga MCA Nahashon Gachuhi.

This followed the chaos at the Jubilee Party assembly caucus meeting held in Kiambu county two weeks ago.

Gachuhi sustained injuries after he was hit with a stone by goons said to have been hired by the MCAs behind the changes.

The MCA, who was attacked at the Kiambu hotel, is opposed to the changes.

Murigi later told journalists that their agenda has been accomplished despite the fight that broke out.

"We have delivered the letter to the deputy speaker to have him convene a special sitting and we have taken over our new offices," he said.

The first fight at the assembly was when the county representatives attempted to evict clerk Chris Kinyanjui.
