Thirty six passengers were injured on Tuesday when a Mwingi-bound bus veered off the road and fell near Mwini town.
The accident occurred at about 10 am as the Transcounty Sacco
vehicle headed from Nairobi.
Mwingi Central OCPD John Nyamu said brakes of the 53-seater bus may have failed.
"The cause of the accident is yet to be established but there are allegations of brake failure," he said on phone.
The passengers were treated at Mwingi Level Four Hospital.
