Authority has suspended the implementation of higher parking rates at the JKIA following uproar.
KAA announced the suspension via Twitter on Tuesday "pending further consultations with our airport stakeholders".
The authority revised the rates by Kenya Airports Parking
Services (KAPS) but protests were the result.
The Nairobi Foundation lobby
filed a lawsuit arguing the new charges were exorbitant and exploitative and that the people were not involved.
Under the new charges, motorists pay Sh100 for a 20-minute stay at the airport, Sh250 for between 20-40 minutes and Sh350 for up to an hour.
Those wishing to park for more than 24 hours will pay Sh1, 000 and it will
cost Sh1, 000 to have a car unclamped.
The new fees were to take effect on April 15, in a move aimed at checking idleness.
