The Court of appeal has reversed
extradition proceedings against ex-Cabinet minister Chris Okemo and former KPLC boss Samuel Gichuru to New Jersey.
The Court made the announcement on Friday adding that the judgement will be done later.
Okemo and Gichuru are fighting their extradition to British Island of Jersey to face corruption and money-laundering charges.
Okemo is former Energy minister.
Lawyers Fred Ngatia and Otachi B’Womote argued that the surrender of suspects involves treaties and foreign relations.
They also noted that this falls under
executive discretion as opposed to judicial intervention.

The decision to extradite the two
was made on
December 18, 2015, by
Judge Isaac Lenaola who was at the High Court. He is now at the Supreme Court.
