Turkana Senator John Munyes on Friday thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for nominating him to the Cabinet.

"This is an honour to Turkana residents and at the same time a confirmation of the trust and confidence the president has on the Jubilee team in the county."

Munyes said in a statement that the Turkana people will support the government in its endeavour to deliver services to all Kenyans irrespective of party affiliation.

Elsewhere in Nakuru, residents expressed their joy following the nomination of former Governor Kinuthia Mbugua as State House Comptroller.

The locals who spoke in Molo town on Friday thanked Uhuru for bringing back Kinuthia saying he has a good track record.

Peter Mutai, Mbugua's neighbour in Sirikwa, said the former Governor played a key role in uniting communities living in Nakuru when he was DC.

"He resettled many families, most of whom were victims of ethnic clashes in Kuresoi," he said.

Kinuthia lost to Lee Kinyajui in jubilee party primaries last year and chose to vie as an independent candidate but was asked by Uhuru to step down.
