Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has hit out at his critics in the Coastal region saying only his trusted friend and Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi is in his league.
The rest, he said, are below the duo's level and they cannot therefore waste time worrying about them.
“There is no match for us in Coast here. We are out of your league,” Joho said.
The county boss spoke at NASA’s consultative forum on the People’s Assembly held at the Sun n Sand Beach Hotel in Kikambala, Kilifi county on Sunday.
The "Sultan" said
he has no time for cabinet secretaries, governors, MPs or senators who hurried assemble press conferences to answer him every time he speaks.
“They are usually flanked by many political losers,” Joho said.

Joho's statement was apparently directed at Tourism CS Najib Balala, his Mining counterpart Dan Kazungu, former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar and other Jubilee politicians at the Coast.
Balala has led an onslaught against Joho and Kingi over their push for secession of the Coastal region.
The CS and his supporters have held several press conferences to bash the two governors saying they are only looking for political relevance since they are in their last terms.
However, Joho said he stopped responding to them when he went national in politics.
Instead, Joho said, he will let his foot soldiers deal with them.
“We will give you Owen Baya, Mishi Mboko, Aisha Jumwa, Badi Twalib, or if we feel like it, we will let Gladys Wanga and Millie Odhiambo to deal with you,” Joho said.
Joho said
all counties aligned to Jubilee have done less to improve the lives of residents than NASA affiliate counties.
“The noise of a frog does not stop even a sheep from drinking water,” he said.
The governor
said
the Coast region will one day produce a president.
He however said this is not possible under the current regime.
“So if we let things go the way they are, even getting governors here will be a problem,” Joho said.
