NASA has no capacity to stop President Uhuru Kenyatta from discharging his mandate, Mumias East MP Be Washiali has said.

He said the Jubilee administration does not recognise Raila Odinga as Opposition leader, and only know him as an ordinary Kenyan.

"All of us know we are governed by democracy and Uhuru has the majority and thus is the President," Washiali said on Sunday.

The chief whip said Jubilee was formed to unite Kenyans from all regions, regardless of background.

He spoke during a fundraising meeting at ACK St Barnabas Kipkenyo Church in Eldoret where he was with Jubilee politician Tony Matanda.

The MP said DP William Ruto is in line to take over from Uhuru in 2022 and Kenyans are ready to back him.

On Saturday, Washiali said they have identified a running mate for Ruto from the Luhya community.

NASA has said it will not back down on plans to swear in Raila as people's president.

The coalition is expected to announce a date when the event will take place after disappointing supporters on Jamhuri Day.

Leaders are calling on Uhuru and Raila to hold talks, but the leaders have differed on the subject of discussion.
