The decomposing body of a woman who went missing after seeking the services of a bodaboda operator in Embu a week ago was on Sunday found in a river.

Lorene Wambui,32, reportedly hailed from Ruaraka.

Her body was found dumped in Rupingazi River in Majimbo area of Embu Town with an injury on the head.

Wambui had allegedly visited the area to attend a motor show.

Eyewitness and police accounts said the deceased went missing on December 10 and was last seen travelling on a bodaboda from a popular cafe in Embu town.

According to Etyang,residents informed the police on Sunday that they had discovered a decomposing body of a woman

in Rupingazi River.

He said the officers proceeded to the scene and retrieved the body from the river and moved it to the Embu Level Five Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.

Etyan said it was confirmed the body was that of Wambui and that it had an injury on the head whose cause could not be immediately established.

The CID boss said a suspect has been arrested and is helping the police with investigations.

He said Alvine Mugendi, 32, was found with a mobile phone belonging to Wambui.
