NASA revamps Raila's oath plan, slots inauguration for early next year

NASA has re-embarked on the plan to swear in Raila Odinga as President, the national organising committee said on Thursday.

Hamida Kibwana, Koitamet ole Kina, Peter Mathuki, David Ndii, Oduor Ong’wen, Judy Sijeny and Bramwell Simiyu, in a statement, said the inaugural session of the National Peoples Assembly will take place early next year.

"Following the postponement of the launch of the Peoples Assembly that was to take place on Jamhuri Day, December 12, the organising committee wishes to announce the resumption of the Peoples Assembly process," the team said.

The coalition said

the postponed inaugural session of the National People’s Assembly will be preceded by a series of regional consultative forums.

"These preparatory meetings will bring together the leadership of the different regions of the country to deliberate on national governance as it affects the regions, and to distil the region’s agenda for the Peoples Assembly," the statement said.

The first of these consultative forums is scheduled for Sunday, December 17 at the Coast region. NASA national leaders are expected to grace the occasion.

The coalition said detailed information on the forum will be communicated by the coast leadership.

The national organising committee said they will communicate the full schedule of the consultative forums in the coming days.
