Top student in Marsabit scores 425 marks

The top student in the KCPE exam in Marsabit county scored 425 marks.

Rubi Nyokabi studied at Jamia Primary School.

The second-best student - Bonaya Jillo - studied at Gateway Academy in Moyale. She scored 424 marks.

Nyokabi, 14, scored 92 per cent in English, 84 in Kiswahili and mathematics, 83 in science and 82 in social studies.

On Tuesday, Nyokabi said she had expected to score 415 marks.

“I am glad I have managed to score 425 marks. It is all by the grace of God,” she said.

Nyokabi wants to join Alliance Girls’ High School and study medicine at the university.

Jamia Primary School head teacher Ali Sharrif said two candidates scored more than 400 marks.
