Millicent Wanza from Kaginga Academy in Mwingi emerged tops in Kitui county in the KCPE exam after scoring 432 marks.
School director Stanley Wanjohi said five pupils scored more than 400 marks and 26 got more than 350.
Forty-four pupils sat the exam in the school.
Wanjohi said the school has performed well since 2004.
He urged parents to enrol their children in the school.
Wanza said, “I thank my parents for making sure I was always in class. I want to become a doctor in future.”
Her mother Esther Mwende thanked teachers for doing a good job.
During last year’s exam, 11 pupils from the school scored more than 400 marks.
Michelle Mutemi was the best-performing student with 423 marks.
