Two days after Opposition leader Raila Odinga flew to

Zanzibar, photos have emerged of the former Prime Minister relaxing in the island.

A social media user, Sasha Seraphine Mbote, posted photos with Raila at Park Hyatt hotel.

"I celebrated Zimbabwe with Baba," the caption read after Robert Mugabe resigned as the President of Zimbabwe on Tuesday night.

Mbote, a Kenyan who runs a spa at the hotel, said she ran into Raila and decided to take photos with him.

The NASA leader appears to have extended his stay in Zanzibar as he was expected back in the country on Tuesday.

Raila flew to Zanzibar on Sunday a day to the Supreme Court announcement, over political unrest, according to his long-time political advisor Salim Lone.

“The unrest pushed Mr Odinga out of the country. He left Kenya on Sunday night. He is now in Zanzibar, off the coast of mainland Tanzania,”

said Lone.

Last Friday Raila's supporters engaged the police in running battles as his motorcade snaked its way from the JKIA through Mombasa Road, Jogoo Road and at the city centre as the relentless crowd escorted him on foot.

He was jetting back from the United States where he had gone on 10-day visit that included a meeting with policymakers and leaders in the US.

On Sunday,

another clash between his supporters and police broke out at Mathare after

murder of five people in Riverside.
