Police have cordoned off Kibra's Jamhuri grounds to prevent NASA from holding its rehearsal rally for Raila Odinga's welcome back from US.

This came an hour after the government sealed off

Kamukunji grounds where the meeting was to take place.

NASA leaders condemned the action saying "police must known Kenya is not a banana state."

"It seems the government has forgotten...we already resisted and we can only continue to resist," NASA said via its telegram page on Thursday.

The Opposition was to hold the rally as a rehearsal to welcome Raila when he returns on Friday.

Siaya Senator James Orengo told journalists at JKIA that "no force under the sun" will stop NASA from holding its activities.

But IG Joseph Boinnet had warned NASA against

mobilising large crowds to march to the airport.
