After a barren first half which was played under heavy downpour, former City Stars’ striker Oscar Mbugua gave the tax men the lead after being put through by Benson Amianda in the 56th minute. Amianda added the second ten minutes later through a penalty which was awarded after he was brought down. He sent Palos’ keeper Robert Ayala the wrong way to increase his goal rally to 16 same as Vihiga United captain Patrick Okullo. On Wednesday, Palos hosts Vihiga United.
Following the win, Ushuru moved to 75 points on the log— one ahead if Wazito.
Ken Kenyatta, the Ushuru coach said: “It was a must win game us and I’m happy we picked three points from such a difficult game.”

Being a mid morning kick off, Frank Ouna’s charges enjoyed a brief stay atop of the second tier before the other matches pitting their promotion challengers Ushuru and KCB began.
The abscene of creative midfielder Zachary Gathu who was suspended for the clash was not felt in the entire match as Ouna deployed attack oriented players to fight for the three points.
His counterpart Ezekiel Akwana was left with many questions for the many chances his side wasted and their failure to use the home advantage. Ezekiel Odhiambo was the hero of the match with the match winning goal which came in the

68th minute. In other matches Benjamin Megason scored a double as Kenya Police overpowered St Joseph Youth 3-1 at Karuturi to hit their 48th point of the season.
