Kondele MCA Joachim Oketch and three others were on Monday charged in a Kericho court with malicious damage to property.

The court heard that on October 18, he together with others, raided Prosperity House in Kisumu and stole chairs as well as destroyed 11 tents.

The property belonged to Tausi Design and Promotion Ltd.

Okech, Francis Muga, Charles Ogolla and Constance Masinde denied the charge before Kericho senior resident magistrate Stephen Ngetich.

"The property was valued at Sh92,000.The properties are owned by Tausi and Design Promotions which is housed at Prosperity Building," the court heard.

The four were released on Sh50,000 cash bail each as they wait for the ruling on November 6 in the same court.

The accused persons were represented by lawyer Francis Olel.

Kisumu Majority Leader Kennedy Onyango said the four were framed since none of them were at the building when mayhem broke out.

He described the arrests of the four as a government ploy to silence those out to speak about human rights violations.

The MCA said come October 26, no presidential election will take place in NASA strongholds.
