One body has been retrieved from Lake Nakuru after a helicopter crash on Saturday.

The male victim's body was recovered at 12.30pm on Monday and has been taken to Umash Funeral Home.

Body parts of a second victim have also been recovered as the search operation enters its third day.

Five passengers were on board the chopper when it crashed into the lake moments after taking off at Jarika lodge.

It was reportedly heading to Narok for Jubilee campaigns.

The search operation is being conducted by officers from the

National Police Service and the Kenya Navy among other departments.

A special team of 10 private divers from Mombasa joined the search of five bodies on Monday morning.

Three of the victims were part of Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika's media team.

They are Sam Gitau, John Mapozi and Antony Kipyegon. The others are pilot Appolo Malowa and a lady friend, Veronica Muthoni.

A counseling tent has also been set at the recovery with experts from Kenya Counseling and Psychological Association on standby. Food vendors have also camped at the site.

Kenya Red Cross Society Central Rift Manager, Michael Ayabei said his team together with their counterparts from the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association had debriefed families of the victims.
