Police have arrested a man who allegedly warned that he will shoot those opposed to anti-IEBC protests.

Daniel Omondi was arrested in Githurai on Monday over the inflammatory message on his Facebook account.

He was held after police searched his house and recovered three live 9mm rounds of ammunition.

Assistant IG George Kinoti, in a statement on Wednesday, said police also found materials suspected to be for making explosives.

Omondi had called on youth from a particular community to rise up and defend themselves.

The alleged post was accompanied by a picture of Omondi holding an AK 47 rifle.

Police have so far presented him in court and requested for 15 days custodial orders to allow for more investigations.

"We wish to warn others abusing the social media to post hate/ inflammatory messages that we will deal firmly with them," Kinoti said.
