Billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi and his wife Irene Sisa have moved to court seeking anticipatory bail on any arrest.

Wanjigi wants orders barring police and DPP from trespassing and entering his private residence despite having search warrants.

He wants the order given the pending hearing and determination of his case.

The businessman says in his suit that the DPP, through his officers without a court warrant, entered his Muthaiga home on account of a suspected criminal offence committed in his property in Malindi.

"The raid has been concocted to embarrass and falsely accuse me and is meant to settle political scores," he says through lawyer Jackson Awele.

Over the last three months, Wanjigi says he has been subjected to "untold mental and physiological torture" by police officers who have been "intimidating, trailing and curtailing his freedom of movement and right to privacy".

He also says his life is in danger.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Recce Squad broke into the Muthaiga home with the aim of arresting Wanjigi.

He is said to have locked himself up in the house on Monday to avoid arrest after police officers recovered a cache of weapons at another home in Malindi suspected to belong to him.

A search warrant seen by The Star indicates the DCI, under the command of Chief Inspector Joseph Gichuki of badge number 234102, has permission to raid Wanjigi's Caramel Club at ABC place along Waiyaki way.

They will also go to his Kwacha offices along General Mathenge road in Westlands, Nairobi.
