Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny has called on the government to change tact on how it is dealing with anti-IEBC demonstrators.

He said on Monday that encountering NASA demos with lethal force only gives Opposition leader Raila Odinga a lifeline.

Addressing the media at Parliament, Kuttuny said the continued use of force on protesters makes Jubilee administration look bad.

The legislator asked Interior CS Fred Matiangi to ask officers to desist from attacking or shooting Kenyans in demos.

"The use of force to quell demos has been counterproductive as Jubilee is falling into the trap of Raila who thrives in anarchy and violence."

"We know Raila will not beat President Uhuru Kenyatta in any election," Kuttuny stated.

The MP said continued harassment of Kenyans might affect the Jubilee campaigns as well as scuttle voter turnout in this month's repeat poll.

"We know that Uhuru has numbers but it is unfortunate some members of his administration are employing tactics to undermine his hard work at consolidating votes."

Kuttuny, a former Uhuru political advisor, called on government agencies to tone down on the manner it is handling rioting NASA supporters.

"Raila is using his supporters as fodder. He wants them dead to gain political mileage and international support for sympathy," he stated.

According to a report by two rights watchdogs, police officers have allegedly killed at least 33 people in post-election protests.

This was after the announcement of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the August 8 election.
