Opposition leader Raila Odinga now says he was never interested in a coalition government following the disputed election in 2007.

At least 1,000 died while more than 600,000 were internally displaced in the violence that followed.

Raila told charged Mombasa supporters on Sunday that Deputy President William Ruto was the mastermind of the power-sharing deal.

He said

it is unfair for Ruto to keep on accusing him of forcing a coalition government yet he is the one who floated the idea during mediation talks

.

"Ruto was among those who represented ODM in the talks with their PNU counterparts," he said.

"Ruto is so forgetful. He, alongside [Musalia] Mudavadi, [Sam] Ongeri, [Martha] Karua, [Moses] Wetang'ula and Mutula Kilonzo, were the ones who sat in the talks. Raila Odinga was not present. How it turns out that I wanted a coalition government is surprising."

Ruto, who is now DP, has said many times that all the NASA presidential candidate wants is a

nusu mkate

deal with Jubilee Party President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He and Uhuru have categorically stated that neither this nor peace talks with arbiters will take place.

The ODM leader

said history can never repeat itself and they will not agree to a power-sharing deal.

"We are not interested in a

nusu mkate

(half loaf of bread)...forget about it...we are the owners of the full bread," he said during NASA's mega rally at Mama Ngina Drive.

Raila further said that after the 2007/8 talks, Ruto's "greed for power made him demand the Agriculture ministry which had many parastatals".

He also said Ruto sensed he was going to be jailed by the International Criminal Court, was looking for an escape route and

felt he would be vindicated if in government.

The crimes against cases against Ruto and Uhuru were dropped, Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda citing lack of sufficient evidence and political interference.

NO AL GHURAIR, OT-MORPHO

Raila maintained

peaceful IEBC demos for reforms at IEBC will proceed on a daily basis starting Monday.

The Opposition leader said NASA will only participate in the repeat October 26 election if their demands are met.

He said the coalition came up with the demands after IEBC defied a court order to open its servers, one that would have given a clear picture on the status of the election.

"We wanted the servers opened but they refused. If the servers would have been opened, we would have known the winner of the election and would not be in the current state. Since they defied the order, they have to meet our demands."

Raila said

KIEMS gadgets should be reconfigured to transmit both text and images of scanned form 34A and 34B's

He said tenders awarded to Al Ghurair and OT-Morpho must be cancelled and awarded to other firms before they can agree to participate in the election.

"We had vowed never to complain over the August election but after the results were announced they are the ones who forced us to seek redress in court. We had not intended to do this," he said.

"Fortunately [Chief Justice David] Maraga proved so courageous and delivered a ruling that hit Uhuru below the belt. He was shocked and after drinking himself silly, he branded the Judiciary all sorts of names."

The veteran Opposition leader said before Uhuru touches Maraga as he vowed

to, Kenyans will have dealt with him at the ballot.

Raila also

chided the other presidential candidates calling them betrayers.

He said they already conceded defeat in the August election so they should be ashamed for wanting to participate "in a game they already surrendered".

Raila said Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot is "a traitor and a Jubilee puppet" for accepting to be part of a sham process.

IEBC announced Aukot and six others including the President will take part if fresh poll. Cyrus Jirongo was not in the list.

"Other candidates had less than one per cent in the annulled election. They had conceded. They have less than 10 days to campaign. They are shameless to accept the offer with a few days left."

Regarding his trip to the UK, he said Jubilee brigade panicked because they know he has spoken the truth about Kenya's political situation.

He said Kenyan Ambassadors in foreign countries are propelling propaganda about NASA so it was necessary to demystify the perception by giving a clear picture.

"We went to UK to say the truth. The ambassadors have been spreading lies," he said citing US and England envoys.

He said he has not begged

international entities to force Jubilee to the negotiating table.

Raila added: "We want to tell all our supporters that the Canaan journey is still on. It has only been delayed for some time but we shall soon blow the trumpet.'

READY TO PAY ULTIMATE PRICE

NASA leaders also said they are ready to pay the ultimate price - including death and jail - to ensure no poll is held

October 26.

They said demos will go on even if police sustain their killing spree.

The leaders called for economic sabotage by avoiding to pay taxes to force electoral reforms.

"We are ready to die to liberate our country," Siaya Senator James Orengo said, mentioning the deaths of Ronald Ngala and Robert Ouko who were assassinated.

"There will be no poll. Uhuru and IEBC can ho ahead with own, we will do ours," he said, and added

Kenyans will go to the ballot when Raila says so.

"Uhuru, you are not above the law...you are under and deeply in trouble. Uhuru must go.'

Wetang'ula, who is Bungoma Senator and Ford Kenya leader, said Uhuru will be ousted was the case with Ugandan dictators.

He said Uhuru is "a lame-duck

president while Raila is the people's president" and reiterated no election will take place later this month.

Regarding killings during NASA demonstrations, he said deaths among Luos

will only worsen the situation and make the President's ouster from State House inevitable.

Wetang'ula said Jubilee secretary general Raphael Tuju is "dancing lame before the main event" by claiming there is a Luo uprising.

"Don't wail louder than the bereaved," he said.

He added IEBC wants Raila to sanitise the fraud election by including him name in the ballot and that

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati "has been excluded but others are

getting instructions from State House".
