Navratri, which means nine nights, is a Hindu festival that celebrates the honour of the divine feminine, the Goddess mother Durga.
The 10th day is celebrated as Dusshera, where many people observe Dusshera through special prayer meetings and food offerings to the Gods at home or in temples.
Outdoor fairs and parades are also held with large effigies of Ravana, the Mythical King, and these effigies are burnt on bonfires in the evening.
Dusshera is the culmination of the Navratri Festival.
East FM celebrated Dusshera with the community at the SSD Temple on Lower Kabete Lane.
Various temples across Nairobi, in Kisumu and Mombasa hosted East FM to celebrate the Navratri Festival.
