The late Chris Msando's family has petitioned the government to expedite investigations into his murder.

A postmortem revealed the IEBC acting ICT director

was strangled to death. His body was found at City Mortuary on July 31.

"He died from strangulation and had incisions on his right arm but the rest of his body was intact," government pathologist Johansen Oduor said on August 2.

Msando's mother Maria Aloo noted it has been almost three months since he was killed yet no report has been presented amid investigations.

The 75-year-old pleaded with the government for a quicker probe and the prosecution of the killers so the family gets justice.

"The government promised to unearth the mystery surrounding the death of my son but for close to three months now, nothing tangible has happened."

Aloo said it appears the government has slowed down and will never conclude the probe.

She wondered why it is taking long yet they were assured of capability to find and punish the murderers.

Msando’s mother spoke to The Star at her rural home in Lifunga village, Ugenya sub-county, on Tuesday.

Aloo mourned her son saying she was robbed of a person and that her life has become so difficult that she cannot eat properly and carry on with her medication as he had been paying for it.

She said her nights have been sleepless because Msando is always on her mind.

Msando's spirit will only rest when the identity of his killers is revealed, she said.

"Why couldn't they arrest or fire him instead of killing him if he had committed any offence at work?"

Msando’s elder sister Alice Awuor asked the government to let FBI and Scotland Yard unravel the mystery behind the murder.

This was also the call by Opposition leaders, who said on August 1 that IEBC should hire

foreign IT experts to look into the KIEMS following Msando's death.

Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi

further

urged the government to accept Scotland Yard (UK) and FBI (USA) offers to assist.

A school going girl was arrested in Kisii about a month ago after she was found with Msando's cell phone.

She was questioned by detectives after she was found with a phone reportedly used to send threatening messages to the slain IEBC manager.

Suspect Andrew Kiprotich, 60, was released, a court saying there was no reason to continue holding him as police have not given enough proof of his involvement.

Politicians have been piling pressure for the government not to leave any stone unturned
