A badly burnt body of a woman was found dumped at a construction site in Ruring’u estate near Nyeri town on Sunday.

Her hands were tied . Police believe the woman was murdered elsewhere and her body taken there, where it was set ablaze.

The clothes found near the body helped to indicate she was a woman.

The body was burnt beyond recognition, save for the legs.

Children playing around the building stumbled on the body.

Police said it was too early to speculate on the motive of the crime.

They urged residents to await the postmortem to establish how the victim died and her identification.

Police officers immediately started investigations and combed the area for evidence. Residents jammed the area as police removed the charred remains to Nyeri Referral Hospital morgue.
