Nurses Union chair John Bii has asked nurses to resume work to avoid being sacked by county governments.

He said the nurses strike, on its 98th day, is illegal and members should heed the Council of Governor's call to return to work.

The CoG had given nurses up to last Friday to resume work or be sacked.

"Their jobs are on the line and they will lose out," Bii said on Monday.

He accused secretary general Set Panyako of continuing to mislead the nurses to remain on strike yet the boycott was declared illegal by the Industrial court.

"I will move back to court to force Panyako and the other officials to call off the strike so that we save jobs for the nurses who are now at a really danger of being fired,” the union boss said.

Bii also told nurses to apologise for being away from work over the past three months.

He said the union will quickly engage with governors so that they sign the CBA, which is the cause of industrial action.

The union secretary general said nurses will not call off the strike until counties and the national government signs their CBA.

Panyako asked nurses to ignore sack threats from governors as it is illegal.

“We will fight on even if it means going to the Supreme Court to ensure that we get our rights," he said.
