An arrest warrant against Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has been lifted.

The High Court issued the warrant against Mbugua and county officials Motari Mogusi and Joseph Mbugua following a pay row with former county employees.

Justice Monica Mbaru said the three failed to comply with summons issued on June 5 and should be arrested and taken to court on Tuesday.

But Mbugua's lawyer Tom Ojienda told the court on Monday that they have complied with an order requiring them to pay those aggrieved.

He said the county is committed to paying the six workers who were suspended for alleged gross misconduct.

The former employees' lawyer Brian Otieno told the judge that on October 7, 2016, the court delivered a judgment in favour of the claimants.

They moved to court seeking orders to be reinstated and paid benefits and salaries from 2009.

"The applicants are living in anxiety, distress and uncertainty over failure by the Governor to respect the court," Otieno said.

The court declared the suspension of the five officers by the service board and the county government was unlawful.

Justice Stephen Radido, who heard the claimant's case, directed the Governor and the board secretary to compute payments for the former employees.
