A Bungoma-based Royal Media Services journalist is nursing minor wounds on his face and head after he was attacked on Monday evening by one of Governor Kenneth Lusaka’s bodyguards.
Emmanuel Namisi was assaulted at Members’ Club in Bungoma town by Kisaka Mufutu, a former KDF officer, and other guards who work as part of Lusaka’s security team. The incident happened

at 5pm, when Namisi, who was in the company of a colleague who works at K24 TV station, Moses Masinde, went to the club to unwind. Speaking to the press at Bungoma police station after reporting the matter, Namisi said Kisaka confronted him and asked him why he aired a ‘bad story’ accusing one of Lusaka’s bodyguards of killing a woman identified as Kadogo - who sold groceries in the town.
Kadogo was killed by a stray bullet last Friday when Lusaka’s supporters clashed with those of Ford Kenya governor candidate Wycliffe Wangamati.Namisi said Kisaka slapped and kicked him.
