We'll seek re-election based on agenda, not propaganda - Uhuru

President Uhuru has reaffirmed his commitment to serving Kenyans as he officially launched re-election campaigns at Comesa grounds on Monday.

Uhuru, who has been cleared to run a second term, told supporters he will be seeking votes based on his track record.

"We do not meddle in propaganda but on the change that we bring to the society in all sectors, be it health, infrastructure and those are issues I will be raising in our campaigns," he said.

The President asked political counterparts to campaign peacefully ahead of the August 8 polls.

"As we kick start this journey, I call on the people to practice politics of tolerance and sell their policies because the fact is we will have a a nation after August 8," he said.

DP William Ruto said the Jubilee team will deliver sufficient votes for their re-election.

"We are not focusing on 10 million Kenyans like those people; we actually have focused on the 45 million Kenyans because ours is a government of inclusivity," Ruto said.

"We have a track record of performance. We have a delivery team led by the President and now that we have a superior, practical, transformative agenda for our country, we just appeal to Kenyans to deliver votes and we continue serving the people," he added.

They were accompanied by Jubilee politicians from across the country including Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja, Murang'a Governor Mwangi wa Iria, and Kiharu MP Irungu Kangata.

Leaders of other parties also attended the rally to announce their support for Jubilee. They included Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and Labour party leader Ababu Namwamba.

The President and DP will face longtime rival Raila Odinga and six other presidential candidates who were cleared by IEBC.
