Debuntantes Bulemia Ladies will open their 2017 Kenya women’S Premier League campaign against defending champions Vihiga Queens on Saturday at Mumias Sugar Sports Complex.

Spedag poor run in the Football Kenya Federation women’s Premier League has been attributed to division within the outfit and lack of training time.
The team, which finished runners up last season behind champions Thika Queens in Zone ‘A’, have only won one match this season despite boosting a number of Harambee Starlets’ players. They currently lie sixth on standing with three points with the league now in its fourth round.
After beating Makolanders 2-0, Spedag lost their subsequent three ties to Mombasa Olympic (3-2), Soccer Queens (5-3) and champions Thika Queens (1-0) over the weekend at their backyard. National team players in the line-up are Esse Akida, Samantha Akinyi, Sharon Bushenei, Wendy Achieng, Jacky Ogol, Elizabeth Ambogo, Cherish Avilia and Carolyne Anyango. A source that sought anonymity said, the players are spread all over and getting time to train as team is hard.
“For instance we have players in Mombasa, Nairobi and others are studying at the Mt Kenya University (KEMU). So its really had to bring them together for the purpose of gelling. Besides, when you have all the good players in one team, ego creeps in,” noted the source. Reached for comment, Spedag team manger Sarah Ogonyo acknowledged she was concerned about the results but refuted claims of disunity. She said, “Just like any other teams we have financial constraints. However, it’s the nature of sport you lose and win some and really as much as the results are not positive I believe we will come around. ”
