East African poultry company Kenchic has opened a store in Kiambu town which it says could create as much as 1,500 jobs in the county.

“Kiambu is one of the best markets for our products and therefore, this facility will create employment to budding poultry farmers whilst boosting poultry production to existing farmers,” Kenchic managing director James Oduor said in a statement.

The centre in Ikinu-Kiambu which is the eighth of its kind in the country will stock products such as day-old-chicks including broilers, layers and kenbro breed, chicken feed, disinfectants, vaccines and vitamins.
