Police have summoned Kandara MP Alice Wahome for questioning over the assault of a returning officer on Friday.

The legislator has been ordered to appear before the Kandara DCIO today for the probe.

A video emerged of Wahome and returning officer Martin Malonza disagreeing over changes to Form 34B for the constituency.

Already Malonza has recorded a statement at the Kandara police station following the fresh election incident.

On Saturday, IEBC called for the legislator's prosecution on grounds of harassment of a poll official on duty.

Via Twitter on Saturday, the commission said:

"We take great exception to the manner in which [Wahome] harassed an IEBC official performing his duties.

Such is an electoral offence that must be punished."

The MP claimed Malonza did not give Jubilee agents time to verify results on Form 34B despite being their request.

Wahome said the constituency chief agent John Gitau had raised the matter with the returning officer who said the issue would be dealt with at the end of the exercise.

"I also asked Malonza to give us more time to agree on what to do about the wrong entry but he flatly refused and became loud and uncooperative without regarding the agents."
