A house help was charged on Wednesday after she was
caught on CCTV allegedly placing the
head of
a seven-month-old baby girl between her thighs.
Jael Nasimiyu denied the charge of committing an indecent act with a minor before Kibera chief magistrate Joyce Gandani.
The court heard that on May 8 in Nairobi's South C estate, she intentionally and unlawfully made the baby touch her private parts.
She allegedly did so by forcing the naked child's head between her legs.
Nasimiyu, who was hired
last
Saturday by a mother of one, was alone with the baby when the incident allegedly took place.
Police said the woman noticed
the baby was not alright as she cried continuously.
She then checked the camera recordings and was shocked to
see that Nasimiyu took off her clothes in front of the baby, police said.
The video further showed the accused taking nude photos on a chair while holding the child.
Police further said the worker was captured repeatedly
putting the child's head between her thighs.
"The mother confronted her asking why she did the cruel act. She denied this until the video was played," an officer said.
The parents alerted their security guard who arrested the house help and handed her to police.
Gandani ordered her to pay a Sh300,000 bond.
She further directed the prosecution to supply her with copies of all witness statements which will be used in the trial.
The case will be heard on July 5.
