The Oshwal Education and Relief Board marked its 75th anniversary last Friday at the Oshwal Centre, Westlands.
The board is the custodian of the Oshwal community in Kenya, whose members include Comcraft chairman Dr Manu Chandaria, Bidco Oil CEO Vimal Shah, Nakumatt Holdings MD Atul Shah and Pwani Oil chairman Ramesh Malde.
The climax of the celebrations was the screening of a one-and-a-half-hour film documenting the rise of the Oshwals from small shop-keepers (dukawallas) to retailers, wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers.
