Four suspected thugs were killed on Sunday morning after a kidnapping incident at Nyayo stadium in Nairobi.
Police said the four were shot dead after being trailed by officers from the Special Crimes Prevention Unit.
The officers trailed the robbers from the Central Business District where they had kidnapped a woman and demanded a ransom of Sh100,000.
They were shot after they
had been paid part of their demand and freed the victim.
The incident attracted a huge crowd outside Nakumatt Mega.
"An AK 47 rifle, pistol, and two cars were recovered from the slain men in the 12am incident", police said.
