The last book I enjoyed reading is........The Quran.

The most surprising thing that happened to me is...............reciting a poem for former President Mwai Kibaki when he toured my home village in Kizingitini in 2006. He loved it and left me humbled.

A common misconception of me is...................I am timid and polite.

One of my worst childhood fears was.......................dogs. I avoided homes with dogs for fear of being bitten.

My ideal night out is..............with my family eating good food and having plenty of morally upright fun.

In another life I’d have been....................a doctor.

If I was a politician, I would................ensure most of the community I represent is fully involved in governance and no one is idle.

The best age to be is ..........30.

The best part of my job is...............when I meet people who listen to and appreciate my poetry.

My greatest regret is..............none.

Living person I most admire................my mother.

In moments of weakness I............sit back, meditate then head to the mosque to pray.

My favourite writer is..........Paulo Coelho.

My greatest possession is..........my family. I can never replace them for anything under the sky.

My idea of perfect happiness is........................a well-paying job, money and a healthy and stable family.

Life mantra..............do it today and stop relying on tomorrow for only Allah knows when your next tomorrow shall be.

If I was to die in five minutes, my last words would be......Receive me, Allah, and bless my family.
