Stanley Okumbi replaces Bobby Williamson as Harambee Stars coach

Former Mathare United Coach Stanley Okumbi has been appointed the new Harambee Stars Coach replacing Bobby Williamson.

Okumbi stepped down as the ‘Slum Boys' tactician last December after an average season with the side.

The youthful tactician has coached the U-23 among other youth sides.

Gor Mahia's Frank Ouna will serve as his assistant alongside Musa Otieno, who will be retained.

When reached for comment, Okumbi confirmed he had been contacted by the new office and was ready take over.

"We spoke today (Friday) and I am waiting for the official communication on the same. One thing is for sure...I am ready for the task and will not dissapoint Kenyans." he said.

Okumbi will be assisted by former Harambee Stars captain Musa Otieno and Gor Mahia tactician Frank Ouna in capacities of first and second assistant coach respectively.

He will lead the team on interim basis ahead of the upcoming Guinea Bissau clash.
