The Private Sector Health Partnership has committed Sh900 million to address shortfalls in maternal and early childhood healthcare for the next three years.
Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu said the project launched in 2015 demonstrates Kenya’s dedication to a collective action on health, especially maternal and child healthcare. He was speaking at the Princeton Club in New York on Monday.
“The private sector is not there just to be taxed. It can engage in shared value solutions for development. As we go through rebasing of the economy, private-public partnerships are the way to go,” Mailu said.
He said the Kenyan government has placed maternal and child healthcare high on its development agenda. Mailu praised the Beyond Zero campaign.
