Nairobi deputy governor Jonathan Mueke has told those angling for Kamba votes to negotiate with Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Speaking at a fundraiser in Mui Basin Kitui County, Mueke said this was the only way in ensuring that the interests of the community are addressed.

He said the community will only work with people whose ambitions are bent on improving lives of Kenyans.

At the same time, Mueke has criticised the State House visit by Kamba professionals, saying that such delegations should be taken to respective governors.

"It is within their right to visit State House as the seat of the national government and even engage the President. But the resources in Kitui Makueni and Machakos if well utilised can change the face of Ukambani," Mueke said.

He also challenged Kambas living in Nairobi to vote in the city rather than travel to their villages to cast their ballot.

"What is the logic in traveling to Kitui to elect a Governor while our brothers down here can do the same?" he asked.

Already, talk is rife that former Kilome Mp John Harun Mwau may seek the Nairobi governorship seat as the Kamba renaissance takes root.

Mueke is expected to be the running mate of Evans Kidero.

The deputy governor said he was confident that CORD will retain its dominance of Nairobi politics adding that time had come for the Kamba Community to take its rightful position in the coalition.

Former LSK president Eric Mutua also used the occasion to declared interest in the Mwingi West parliamentary seat.

Mutua said he had what it takes to stake a claim to stake a claim to Kamba leadership.
