Fifteen principals in Busia county have been moved in a major reshuffle, Teachers Service Commission deputy county director Jackson Muge said yesterday.

They include the 2013 Busia County Principal of the Year Titus Isogol.

The long-serving principal of St Joseph Chakol Mixed Secondary in Teso South sub county moves to St Mathias Boys Secondary in Matayos sub county.

Muge said Isogol has done a commendable job at St Joseph’s Chakol and he is capable of heading St Mathias, which is a bigger school.

He takes over from John Ouma, who moves to Fr Okodoi in Teso South in the same capacity.

“A few deputies were elevated while some affected principals were moved, owing to complaints from stakeholders,” Muge said.

He said most head have received the changes positively but some are apprehensive that they may be rejected at their new stations.

The principals are expected to report to their new stations by December 31.

Florence Ngaira, the 2012 Busia County Teacher of the Year, moves from St Cecilia Namenya to St Mary’s Nambale, swopping positions with Esther Mula.

Aboloi Secondary School head in Teso North, Joseph Kimani, moves to St Stephen’s Keng’atuny also in Teso North. He replaces George Etyang who has retired.

Kaliwa deputy head in Teso South, Julius Komu, was promoted and moved to head Katelenyang Secondary in the same subcounty.

The new principal of St Joseph’s Chakol is David Emaase, who has been moved from Fr Okodoi Secondary School in Teso South.
