I expect the Black Cats to do a Blues number and grab a point from Chelsea

Chelsea Vs Sunderland 6pm

My Prediction: The Blues 1-1 The Black Cats

To quote a Sky Sports News analyst; in another life-time we would be counting three points in the bag for the defending champions; but nothing is obvious anymore when it comes to Chelsea. Finally the board has gathered the guts; or is it the pounds needed to sack manager Jose Mourinho. The board has been hesitating because it must have been an expensive affair to let the Portuguese tactician go but once a manager loses the dressing room, it’s over. Mourinho leaves Chelsea, the defending champions, in 16th spot, just one point above the relegation zone. I hope the players use this time to reflect on their performances which midfielder Cesc Fabregas admitted was below par. With Sunderland one spot off the bottom, this is actually a battle to stay out of the relegation zone. The Black Cats played a rather decent game against Arsenal two weeks ago and yet knowing that Chelsea can be beaten by anyone; they’ll fancy themselves walking away with at least a point; if not all three. I won’t even delve into this; I’ll just predict in The Blues favour – a draw that is.

Manchester United Vs Norwich 6pm

My Prediction: The Red Devils 1-1 Norwich

Manchester United are also operating way below par this term. Despite always hanging in there as far as the top four is concerned; I think we were all surprised that they lost to Bournemouth last weekend. This is such an unpredictable side but just like Chelsea; before Jose Mourinho’s sacking; there is obviously something negative brewing between the manager and the players. It’s evident that some players don’t agree with the manager’s philosophy or they’re unable to adapt to his style of play. Either way United are looking like a pale shadow of themselves. They have a great squad but look disjointed in every game. As much as we complain about United games looking boring; the players themselves look bored. Norwich are in the relegation zone and have only won three games this season. I wouldn’t expect United to lose this but then again I didn’t expect them to lose last weekend.

Watford Vs Liverpool Sunday 430pm

My Prediction: Watford 1-2 The Reds

Honestly what type of season are we having where top teams can barely muster three wins in a row. Liverpool are one such side that look so dangerous one week and then crumble the next. Even though their squad didn’t look as great as some of the bigger teams at the start of the season, manager Jurgen Klopp managed to get good performances out of them; most notably their 4-1 thrashing of Manchester City recently. Their South Americans are doing well but clearly they are missing their injury prone Daniel Sturridge. He just needs to do a Michael Owen and quit professional football. On paper you would think this would be Liverpool’s to lose but believe it or not, Watford are having a better season than the Reds. They sit a surprising 7th position in the standings and have won their last three matches; although those games have been against the three teams in the relegation zone. This will be a true test for Enrique “Quique” Sanchez Flores’ side as they seem to crumble against big teams. I guess this is Klopp’s game to lose.

Arsenal Vs Manchester City Monday 11pm

My Prediction: The Gunners 2-0 The Citizens

Obviously this will be the match of the weekend and it will also be Arsenal’s true test of whether we can be serious title contenders. This term we failed to get maximum points against Liverpool and Chelsea; which is somewhat a miracle, though we did beat Man United very convincingly, which showed that we aren’t a pushover any more. City, just like their neighbours, are losing points when least expected; although they are also known to turn on the gas when facing The Arsenal. Sadly Sergio Aguero is expected to be fit for this game which is a worry but our back line when Laurent Koscielny is there is pretty tight this season. We also have Olivier Giroud who is in unbelievable form for the Gunners while it’s impossible to mention Arsenal’s season without a shout out to Mesut Ozil. We do not fear Man City at all. They just need to stroll down the street and ask their Manchester brothers who the new Arsenal are before they make their way down to London. I’m as confident as they come right now!
