Belgian Flemish universities annouce offers of scholarships to students from Kenya

Belgian Flemish universities annouce offers of scholarships to students from Kenya

Are you a Kenyan student and you are looking for scholarships opportunities in Belgium? Do not hesitate any longer and check out your opportunities at Belgian Flemish universities for the Masters intake 2016-2017 by VLIR-UOS. All master courses are taught in English and there is a choice of 15 eligible master programmes. The deadline for application varies between January 1 and March 1, 2016 depending on the master course. All related expenses are covered.

Molecular biologist Pauline Kibui, was one of the 168 Kenyan students in the last ten years who studied in Belgium via a scholarship of VLIR-UOS. Kibui who studied a Master of Science in Molecular Biology in Brussels and Leuven, greatly appreciated the kind of research that she found going on in Belgium and now she is back in Kenya, she can use the knowledge to improve reproduction health by developing diagnostic kits for early disease detection. “Studying in Belgium really changed my way of thinking. I have interacted with people from different backgrounds, by doing this, I got to learn of different community-based developments that can improve the livelihoods of our communities”, says Pauline Kibui, “I noted that ladies are doing very well in the academic and research sector. It was a great motivation that reminded me the sky is the limit. I should also strive to win the nobel prize.”

VLIR-UOS supports partnerships between universities and university colleges in Flanders (Belgium) and in the South. Their aim is to look for innovative responses to global and local challenges. VLIR-UOS funds cooperation projects between professors and researchers and awards scholarships to students and professionals in Flanders and the South.

The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship

The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship is intended for fee-paying applicants who have applied at universityadmissions.se, and have been offered an admission to a master’s programme, starting Autumn semester 2016. The scholarship application period for the academic year 2016/2017 is February 1 – 13, 2016. Further instructions along with the application form will be available at the official website in mid-January 2016.

Ampère Excellence Scholarships for International Students

The Ampère Scholarships of Excellence provides exceptional international students with the opportunity to pursue one of the eligible masters programmes offered at ENS de Lyon. You must be a foreign national and 26 years old maximum at the application deadline. To apply, you must submit the application form with supporting documents by January 16, 2016.

Univeristy of Maastricht High Potential Scholarships for International Students

Maastricht University high potential scholarships are made available by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund in order to encourage talented students from outside the EU/EEA to follow a Master’s programme at Maastricht University. The scholarship is awarded for the duration of the programme with a maximum of 12 months. You must come from a country outside the EU/EEA and meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands. The application deadline is February 1, 2016.
