Farah Khan admires Shilpa Shetty!

Filmmaker Farah Khan said that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s aura affects her even now.

Shah Rukh and Kajol will soon be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, the film which reunites them after 2010’s My Name is Khan.

“Shah Rukh’s movie (Dilwale) is my movie. I shot Gerua with SRK and Kajol in Iceland. I have seen their magic. When a person like me is affected by their aura, then a normal person will also get affected by it,” said Farah at an event organised by Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra.

“I should stay away from Shilpa as everyone would look bad in front of her. She is so slim. I have known her since Baazigar (1993). People usually deteriorate with age but she is becoming beautiful,” added Farah.

Vijayta Pundit planning a comeback to the big screen

Vijayta Pundit who lost her composer husband Aadesh Shrivastav to cancer earlier this year is all set to return to acting.

Vijayta made her acting debut in 1981 with Rahul Rawail’s Love Story opposite Kumar Gaurav was all the rage after the film’s spectacular success. She went on to do some highly successful films like Mohabbat with Anil Kapoor and the Bangla blockbuster Amar Sangi with Prosenjeet Chatterjee.

In 1990 she quit acting to concentrate on being a homemaker. Now with her husband’s unexpected demise Vijayta is looking at reviving her acting career.

Sighing and still in mourning Vijayta says, “I’ve began to feel the burden of my loneliness only now. When Aadesh died all our family and friends were here to support me. Then they all returned to their lives. My two sons are also busy with their own lives. The elder one Avinesh is preparing for an acting career. He is currently assisting Vishal Bhardwaj. I suddenly find myself with a lot of free time in this big lonely house.”

Vijayta knows she has been away from the camera for very long. “Twenty five years is a very long time. I quit and left many offers. Now I want to return to doing selected television serials where I’d have the freedom to come and go at times convenient to me. I need to find something to do for myself.”

Offers from television have already started coming.

“But I want to be sure of what I do. I’ve my husband’s name and reputation to uphold. I won’t do anything undignified,” says Vijatya, and adds she misses her husband every minute.

“This Diwali my sons and I were all alone. Everybody celebrated with their family. Our house used to be flooded with friends every Diwali. This year there was darkness. I need to get out of the house to do something. Acting and singing are my forte. I am ready to get back to work.”

Saif Ali Khan in remake of chef

For all those who loved the Hollywood flick Chef (which was written, produced and directed by Jon Favreau), here is some really good news for you. And the news is that the said film will now be remade in Hindi.

Abundantia Entertainment, Eros International and Alumbra Entertainment recently announced that they would produce the Hindi remake of the high-profile Hollywood hit, and that the Hindi version will star Saif Ali Khan in the iconic title role. The Hindi version will be distributed and released by Eros worldwide.

Speaking on the same, Jon Favreau said, “I’m delighted to see Chef get an Indian remake. I’m excited to see how this personal film translates to the Indian culture. The themes of food, music and family should resonate well.” Terming Chef as one of the most endearing and inspiring films of recent times, Vikram Malhotra (Founder & CEO of Abundantia) said, “Ever since I first saw Chef, I knew that this film had to be made in India. Charming relationships, a feel-good story and a unique journey of self-discovery make Chef the ideal film to bring alive in an Indian context. Add to that the blazing spirit of entrepreneurship and the rapidly evolving food scene in India and the context for a Hindi remake is brilliantly set.

We are proud and honored that an icon of Hollywood like Jon Favreau has chosen us to take forward his passion-project in another part of the world. I am also delighted that one of the finest actors in our country, Saif Ali Khan, will helm the title role in the Hindi version”.

Deepika with Salman in Sultan?

Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone, the two hottest of the hot superstars, are likely to come together finally after two false starts.

Deepika was earlier offered two Salman flicks, Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick. Deepika said no to both reportedly due to date issues but secretly she confessed she didn’t like the roles in these films.

Now we hear she may finally say yes to the third Salman offer, the much-discussed Ali Abbas Zafar’s Sultan.

Reports in a section of the Mumbai press insist the film will go on the floors next month without a heroine. There are also reports that there are two leading ladies to be signed in the film.

Both reports are refuted by sources close to the project.

“There is only one heroine’s role in Sultan and it’s a very powerful role of a spirited spunky sassy character. Deepika is most likely to play the role,” says the source.
