World Diabetes Day was celebrated on November 14. Diabetes Kenya, Aratus Health and Metropolis hosted a educative day out at the Amani Gardens at Karura Forest.
Sponsored by Norvatis, the event’s main objective was to create awareness on what diabetes is and how it can be prevented through change of lifestyle. There was free screening of BMI, blood pressure and blood sugar as well as free consultations from specialist doctors in this field and nutritionists.
The event had many activities including zumba, jumping castle, nature walks, dancing, interactive learning games as a fun way to encourage the public to become more active.
